What is WYSIWYG?

What is WYSIWYG?
Many years have passed since the web designers managed to build the first website using an image based-editor. Since then, the web design business has grown significantly.
WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) is a program used to create web pages that doesn’t require HTML (Hypertext Mark-up Language) web design knowledge. WYSIWYG requires no special hosting; it can be used with any hosting service, many navigation tools are available, you can easily create forms using the build-in Form Wizard, you have support for many video formats and many more.
If you decide building your site using WYSIWYG editors you should take into account some aspects that may not be favorable for your website. The website will most probably encounter problems regarding the marketing of your website. The most popular desktop WISIWYG editors are considered to be Dreamweaver and Front Page. The WYSIWYG software works with three levels of realism: composition mode, layout mode and preview mode. Composition mode gives you the possibility to see how the product will probably look in the end. Layout mode offers the user even a more specific look of the final product. And the preview mode the application gives a representation that will show you the exact look of the final product. But using these programs you will find out that font sizes may not be fixed, content placement may not appear shapely on less popular functional browsers and in the end the designed interface of the program will limit you future expandability.
Dreamweaver has a unique aspect that may convince you to use it. I am talking about its template files which give you the possibility to fix design mistakes on different pages at ones without having to go to each page and see the possible changes.
Front Page and Dreamweaver editors helps the web designers think how the content will appear without focusing on the code. But when these editors with viewing mode happen to insert some markup code, the web designer must know enough about the markup language in order to solve the problem and finally send his website on the internet.
