Ultimately, when it comes to website content writing for educating potential buyers about your products and services via your website, you have 10 seconds to grab their attention and an additional minute for them to develop an understanding of your company. Here are some website content writing tips to keep your website content short and sweet yet still compelling.

•    Use ideal language to build integrity, rather than exaggerated terms or overly promotional words like “huge”, “incredible” etc….

•    State most important point or topic of paragraph first. You MUST grab the reader’s attention first.

•    Stick to simple words. The more complex, the more counterproductive your content is.

•    Keep your words, sentences, and paragraphs short. Constant reading from a screen is not only strenuous on the eyes, but it’s proven people read at an average rate of 25% slower on their computer screen than that of a print advertisement. The reader is in hurry to find information.

•    Use bold, color, or highlights to point out important facts or comments or hypertext links to clearly point out easy access to additional pages (maybe for more information since we’re trying to keep it sweet). These things will help the reader scan the page easily.

•    Using bulleted lists (such as this) one help keep things short, sweet and neat. Also, helps the reader find what they’re looking for and move forward. Internet readers can be impatient.

•    Keep Titles and Headlines simple. Again, allow for easy page surfing. You’ll want to keep the titles and headlines to the “keywords” that people would actually look for. No need to try and be clever and come up with phrases outside the box. It’s about convenience.

•    Stick to one topic per paragraph. You don’t want to confuse the reader adding too much info and veering off subject. This could frustrate the reader and they could move on to a different site.
