Effective utilization of the scripting language such as JavaScript can make the web page more successful. The technique of swapping images in a web page would be worth considering. Buttons or cursor can be used to trigger the images to get swapped as soon as the visitor clicks on the button or moves the mouse over the graphic area.

The web page design should be such that it reflects the theme of the website. The choice of background, colors and fonts, apart from the layout should all be in synchronization with the theme of the website. For example, if the website is about gardening, pleasing colors of the garden in the background with appropriate images of the most popular plants in a typical garden would be ideal and will give an instant idea to the visitors of the site.

Another important point worth considering in web page design is the effective usage of the white space in the page. White space refers to the blank space left between the lines in a paragraph or the space between the two succeeding paragraphs in the text area and the gap between two successive images or a graphic and an image displayed in the page. The white space should be uniform across the page and the layout should be such that there is no imbalance among the distribution of the white space in the page.

The web page design should be such that only the required data, be it text, images, or graphic, is displayed in the page and there is no overloading of data in the space constrained by the layout.
