Graphic Information Format files have the capability to be transparent in nature. This enables the user to choose colors that do not show causing the background of the browser color to show through. In addition, this improves the quality of the graphics. GIF files are the most essential files in web graphics as they help ensure that the quality of the image is not degraded during the compression process. GIF files enable the user to animate the files. Animated GIF files help simulate image motion using a sequence of individual pictures and images. The other graphic format that you can use in web graphics is JPG. JPG, an acronym for joint photographic experts group, is the best graphic format for images that contain many colors. However, when using this type of format, you are advised not too apply too much compression as you are bound to loser quality in the process. JPG enables the user to modify the file sizes and to preview the images.

It is advisable to avoid using JPG files for graphics that feature few colors. This is because using this format will make the graphics larger than they should be making them lose their quality. Besides these two graphics file format, there is another file format known as PNG. PNG, an acronym for Progressive Network Graphics, is the latest file format that is used in web graphics. The files for this format are usually versatile and compact enabling them to combine some of the best qualities of JPG and GIF file formats. Examples of these qualities include the ability to feature images with many colors.
