Another key error that many people have within their designs is put spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.  Although language styles and spellings vary across the globe, if you are talking to an American audience then that is the style your text must be in.  You must also realize that there will be people who are not native English speakers so incorporating slang into your web design is just the same as speaking a foreign language.
