Web Design and its Internet Marketing Errors
When you walk into a shoe store, you expect to see shoes and other items that is related to shoe business; and when you go inside an electronic store, you see assortments of electronic gadgets. The point is, all merchants are aware that you cannot sell something that your customer cannot physically see. However, when it comes to web design, web designers are not merchants. Instead, they are more of an artist with a flair for technical aspects. They often do their work for the sake of designing one, that often times they even disregard the purpose of a website, which is to give awareness to the viewers for the service or products that a certain business owner is selling.
Let us ponder more on this; the most common and unforgivable mistake that most web design company or individual make is to unconsciously hide what the company or product is about from its site visitors. The truth is, that most internet users expect to see nothing but what it is that your company is offering on your page, i.e. your company introduction, products, how to avail your goods through your website. This they want to achieve, without going through the whole site and getting nothing but useless information or data. As a web designer, your duty is to make a web design that is a lot easier for your viewers to understand what that website is all about and avoid losing them to your clients competitors’ web page.
The statistics show that over 90% of internet users visits a website and that it only last take them less than 2 seconds in a certain page, this is about the same time that one looks or read a printed advertisement. And yes, that is not that long at all. If a visitor does not see something that captures their interest in that 2 second, do not expect them to come back to your site again.
A web design company or a designer’s job is to introduce directly your clients company and product the second they land into your site. So how do you do that?
The answer is simple, instead of sugar coating everything about your clients product, why not just focus on enhancing the products image and information. Try to make your viewers feel as if they are seeing the product in person. Give as much details as you can the minute your viewers’ clicks on the view product button. In that way, there is no need for your viewer to dig around the whole web site just to find that certain information that they are looking for. It is all about direct to the point selling.
You must be able to tell your visitors what you can actually do for them; you have to do it quickly, and without frills. Most internet users want nothing but easy access to information. As a web design company or designer, your job is to help your client target their market by helping them sell their products online through their web site.
