Types of Web Design Layouts

The theory behind web design abides by firm rules and features for it to arrive with a superior result. By following the basics of web design layouts, you will create a website that is equipped with improved functionality and an eye-catching look. You can always go and ask your web designer to create superior pages that are not only attractive but also one that is well functioning.

The web design layout that you will choose for your site is the determining aspect of how well balanced your site is going to be. Placing correctly both light and heavy elements of a web design on a page is a layout’s main factor. A good web design company will offer you guidelines on how such different elements should be placed strategically and in what type of format. Either you can place it, in the centre space, grid system or wherever your designer thinks it is appropriate.

Basically, there are about six (6) types of web design layouts that you can apply in almost any web page. Usually there are more than three (3) types of layouts that are put together in creating a good web design layout. The following are the different layout types:

The Repetition layout- Any single or even multiple elements is being repeated twice or even more, this is what repetition layout is about. It simply put an importance on a specific element that is in need of being repeated, to arrive to a much better visibility for your visitors.

The symmetrical layout – In symmetrical layouts, balance is created by placing different design elements that is center aligned or either in one side of the page. If the left side of the webpage contains a design element that is heavy, then you have to balance it with a suitable design element on its right as well. However, keep in mind that the design elements on both of the pages’ side must not be literally the same. You can achieve complete symmetry when your web design is centered or if it is divided evenly in both vertical and horizontal way. This layout type is considered as a balanced and a formal one.

The Asymmetrical layout- By simply looking at the term itself, it suggests that web design elements are asymmetrical or unevenly placed on a webpage. However your web designer wants to do it, this can also be in center, right or in the left side of the webpage. Layouts that are asymmetrical are considered dynamic. Sometimes by overlooking some balanced movement, sometimes you may even create tensions; yet, direct expressions are also being relayed to your visitors.

The Dominative layout- In this form, the logo or symbol, your product images/pictures are strategically placed on your page in a much larger size, thus making it as your site’s attention grabbing factor.

The Isolative layout- Your logo or symbol, pictures, main product images, are placed in tiny portions in your page, this is called as isolative layout. Design elements can be placed in any fitting space depending on its usability and visibility factor.

The Radiative layout- Your site image, content, logo or symbol is highlighted using eye-catching flashing effect or light. This is something that pops up, and is hence called as the attention grabbing part of your web page.
