The Significance of Colors

There is no question that colors add life to web sites. However, you cannot just add the color you want. You need to first consider some points such as color combination and pairing. Why is it important? Well, you don’t want your visitors to be turned away because your colors are too loud, or because they look extremely boring.

Colors give an overall fell to your web page. Dull color combinations give viewers the impression that your content must be dull too. However, an onslaught of colors can be disturbing. Loud clashing colors seem too violent.
As a fact, most designers only use a maximum of three colors. Some even use just one color and just vary its hues and transparency. If you think that you can satisfy everybody by putting all possible colors, then you are misled. Although you cannot please everybody, you can please most people if you just put minimal colors.

If you are wondering which colors help give an ambience that is soothing to the eyes, you can use green, blue or white. These colors give a refreshing look to your page. If you want to add a tender look to your page, pink and purple are the colors for you. You just need to tone them down a little. Don’t use bright reddish-pink.

Generally, the colors that you put depend upon your target viewers. If you are promoting femininity, pink and lilac are best. If your aim is to catch the attention of kids, orange and purple are commonly used, and so are yellow and blue combinations.

You would also need to research the significance of each color, particularly if you have a specific target market. For example, websites that leans toward marriage topics often utilize the color white; while websites that promote nature usually uses green.
