MAKING YOUR WEB DESIGN DYNAMIC THE DHTML WAY
Web design is not just about how to let the browser interpret and display the message encoded in HTML form but also it is more about presentation. To add life to your presentation or web design DHTML was developed, DHTML or Dynamic HTML is not actually a new scripting language, so don’t worry about learning a new scripting language, rather it is a coined word that categorizes a web design into either static or dynamic.
If there is user interaction in your web design then its manner of coding or scripting is termed as DHTML. During the early years of web page design there is no DHTML to speak of, but in the advent of new technologies and the development of new scripting languages the web designs have since evolved from the boring static web page to the snooze deterrent dynamic web pages. So what makes a code classified as DHTML? Here are some characteristics or features of DHTML.
-
Freedom in positioning – due to the inclusion of the cascading style sheets in designing the presentation of the web page, there has been a sort of freedom on where a web page’s element is placed. Unlike in static web page wherein it has limited codes to freely position the elements of the web design.
-
Data dynamism – Dynamic HTML uses scripting languages that are able to command the web browser to access databases. Due to this power of server side scripting languages, the web design allows users to download chunks of data for changing the web pages’ content.
-
Manipulation of Style – Every Hypertext Markup Language can be changed thanks to Javascript and CSS. Change here is not only through the manipulation of the web designer but most of all with the manipulation of the web user.
