How to Use Links for Search Engines?
The home page becomes a key element for your website once it’s live and you need to make sure that you create links for search engines to reach every page in your website.
For larger site, I recommend that you break the site into smaller categories which should be tagged according to your keywords. You do not need to have here many links for search engines, as it is enough to have a single link on the home page to the general category. Once the user hits the category, it should have the links to the internal pages of your website which are relevant to such category.
Though it can visually enhance you web pages, able to hold a user’s attention longer to your pages, using images as links for search engines is not really a very goof idea. This is because of the fact that search engines crawl your site using text and will not be able to see the images, as users can.
As internal links for search engines are important to make sure all of your website’s pages are visible to these search engines, external links are just as essential. Remember that quality reciprocal links increase the importance of your website which will increase its visibility in search engines.
External links for search engines are usually mutually beneficial to yours and the relevant site, as the link from your site creates a backlink to theirs, and yours to theirs. Backlinks add value or “Page Rank” to sites, as this implies the importance of a site. You can do this by contacting websites which have similar contents to your pages and requesting for a “love” link. Though some websites do not reciprocate to your request, you can always use the link to these sites so that your customer base will have a better experience in your site, if such links are really useful to them.
