How to Link Your Website

Web design does not end once the website is up and running.  It also requires keeping the site alive through social networking and link building.

So what can you use to link your website?  You can write an RSS feed using a tool to write it or by automatically creating it on a blog.  It can also be written using a text editor.

You may also choose to have a button that can let your visitors or customers subscribe to your What’s New fee, which will be a great way to link your website to their favorite reader.  Some common feed readers would have an icon that is more familiar to users.  It is better to use that as not everyone can distinguish what a reader or feed is.

Third, you can link your website by adding a Feed icon.  You can use the script and button from the more popular home page tools and feed readers.  To do this, you need to encode your RSS feed URL to be used in a given URL, its link, and an image to this feed service.  If you do this, make sure to validate your feed.

If you intend to link your website, you don’t have to compromise your site’s appearance by resulting to making it look very chaotic with all the buttons.  Most pre-coded buttons would look orange, while some would either have the word XML, RSS, or ATOM.

Strive to link your website using a button that sends across that the link is really a feed, which will be updated information that can be automated.  Refrain from putting text on the button to make it more internationalized, regardless of whether the language used to write it is in RSS or Atom.  Ideally, you can place a tag beside the button that says “subscribe” which can be more self explanatory to unfamiliar users than the word “feed”.
