Basic Elements of a Webpage
Some designers seem to forget the advantages of a basic web design; something which simply does not make sense. While it’s true that every website is different, there are some common elements between each. The following are the items your pages should contain.

Logo
Stamp your company’s identity on your website. Your company’s logo by itself is an assurance to your visitors. There are two basic types of log:

∙ Text based logo

Title
Each page should have a descriptive title that clearly identifies the content of the page and the site itself. This appears on top of the browser window and is considered as the most important and yet often overlooked part of your website. It will only take a couple of seconds for a reader’s attention to be captured, and in those fleeting seconds, your visitor will hardly read further than the title. Each different page of a website should have an individual title. The more relevant, unique and search engine-friendly your title is, the more rankings and clicks to your links you will reap.

Navigation
With good use of navigation links you will aid a user’s time within the site, as well as reinforcing the look and feel of it. A good navigation system can increase the number of pages viewed by each visitor. A simple, clear, consistent and logical Website navigation will make or break your goal.

Body
A description of the contents of the page, and a well-written introduction will help to hook the user. When they enter they want a quick idea of whether the page is of interest – it’s the text and graphics basis of your site that will judge whether they stay or go.

Legal
Place copyright information on each page. It leaves no doubt as to whom owns the design and structure of your site, in the case that somebody should choose to duplicate the ideas; text and graphical structure used by your site.
