Dental Website Design – Never Overlook The Basics
If you have been working with a website designer to create online real estate for your dental practice, then you may already have illusions of grander. The reality is that you can do some amazing things with a website today, however you cannot overlook the basics. Websites can allow patients to set their own appointments, get live updates about your blogs, and even sign up for your newsletters. All of this will ensure that you gain more patients, but not if you do not do the basics. Here are the three basics that every successful website has.
1. Professional Design
You need a website that is visually appealing. If a site does not appear professional then potential patients will disregard your business before they even consider you. If your site looks professional then everyone who sees your website will stay on your site much longer and view your business as being much more credibly and trustworthy.
You need to make sure that a large chunk of your budget on graphics and overall appeal of your site. Once you have this, your visitor will become more engaged which leads to reading more content and you have a much better chance of getting them to contact you about your services or an appointment.
2. Simple Navigation
Using techniques like hidden navigation buttons may look cool but in the end, they can make your site much more difficult to navigate. If you want patients to be able to make appointments through your site then the entire design or theme of your site must focus on this. Essentially, you need to ask yourself one simple question: Is it easy to understand and use? If the answer is yes then great job. If not, your site will frustrate users and they will leave your site before they have booked their appointment.
3. Quality Content
Once you have convinced someone to check out your site, you need to have something they want. This means high quality, useful content. This will inform your future patients about your practice, techniques, and overall experience. This will be the reason that they will choose you over the competition.
The content needs a “call to action” statement. This means that your visitors are prompted to act. This could be as simple as signing up for a newsletter or as complicated as setting their first appointment, either way they need to be told to take a specific action. Without a call to action, your patients will leave your site without ever doing anything. You content should also improve your website rankings through the use of specific keywords or key phrases.
By understanding these simple basics, your site will be a success. Building a site is just like anything else. You need to start with the basics and grow your website from there.
