Defining the Web Design Project

Before embarking on the web design process, the designer must take some to consider his project. Such considerations will usually revolve around a number of factors. The third stage in defining the project lies in giving a face to the project audience. This is done by building a profile for the persona that is targeted by the project. Once these specifications have been developed the definition of the project is as good as complete. This gives way to the development of a timeline upon which the project is to be based. Such a timeline also referred to as a project plan guides the scope in terms of time within which different components of the site must be delivered. Although plenty of emphasis is given to the time element, more emphasis must be placed on the allocation of resources that will make such efforts possible.

Finally, the web designer must detail what maintenance procedures to be used when the site is fully operational. The main components of a maintenance plan revolve around the updating of the site in addition to a regular review process. This will ensure the upholding of high standards. It also assures the developer of the continued functioning of the website.
