Why You Need One

One of the most important things you need when you are running a business is a corporate identity or logo.  Businesses such as AT&T, Wal-Mart, Sony, and many other names you know very well all have a logo that is easily recognized.  With that recognition comes rapport and loyalty.

Think about it in a consumer’s eyes.   o    You don’t want to have a logo with a roll of toilet paper as an image if you are a car dealer.  You need to consider this if you intend to include images.

• Do I need a designer?
  o    That is not a simple yes or no answer, but in most cases it will be a yes.  You want to make sure that you portray your company in the best way possible.  It is a lot harder to do if you have no design experience possible.

Finding A Designer

You don’t just want to pick the first designer you pull up on Google.  You want to shop around and look at a variety of designers.  Here are a few things you need to consider:

• Your budget
  o    Can you afford certain designers?

• Their experience
  o    Can you trust their experience?

• Their portfolio
  o    Do they have designs in your niche or resembling what you
  like?

You also want to make sure they have references, offer guarantees, and refunds.  Most companies carry these, but you always want to make sure that you sign a contract with them as well.  A contract will ensure that you and the creation of your corporate identity are taken seriously.
