How to Choose Web Site Color in Web Designing
Selecting web site color is one of the most crucial considerations in web designing. Color choice needs to be one of the first concerns in starting any web design.
Remember that choice of web site color in web designing is one of the most overlooked aspects by many web designers. Color needs to be one of the first priorities in starting any website. Your site will not be as effective if you fail to give a few more time in choosing the colors that you will use in your site.
Choice of web site color in web designing requires any web designer to understand the basic fact that web browsers have limitations, which robs off freedom to choose any random color you want. This is because of the fact that only 256 colors are seen by web browsers and not all web browsers share similar color pallet.
To properly choose web site color, remember the fact that there are currently 216 colors which are commonly shared by web browsers. It is therefore a rule of thumb to carefully choose from colors that are within this 216 pallet. Otherwise, failure to do so would cause possible problems in some web browsers as some colors which are not in the 216 color pallet that shows on one browser might not show on another.
In choosing web site color in web designing, simply understand the concept of dithering. Dithering is the process whereby a browser tries to mix the colors that do not exist in the 216 color pallet.
You have to understand how browsers try to display uncommon color so that you will correctly choose web site color in web designing. Remember that any browser would mix colors which do not exist in its pallet to be able to display it in an approximate color. This is done by taking very small dots from the native 216 color pallet, which might yield colors which are not very solid and can be speckled. A speckled color makes the text very hard to read if placed over a color that is dithered. Browser safe colors are better to use as it eliminates the need for browsers to go about dithering.
