Free templates for websites are a way for new, up and coming, or even established, web designers to highlight their skills online. While some of these designers are professionals, there are those that merely dabble – so make your choices carefully!

The theory (which is correct) is that while they may pay their designers a healthy fee once, they can resell the templates many times over, earning a hefty profit.

This is a good choice if you are looking for a template that has been professionally designed, and do not mind if other sites are using the same format.

Designer Templates

Designer or exclusive templates are a completely different ballgame. The sites that market these templates do so with the angle that every template is sold only once.

After a particular template is sold, it is removed forever. The templates are also professionally designed, but you have the assurance that your chosen template is yours alone. Of course, that kind of exclusivity comes with a price tag to match.

This is the option for you if you have a bigger budget, and want to be sure that your site is unique.

Whichever choice you make, templates make building a site a much simpler proposition, since they take a lot of the design and coding work out of your hands. Moreover, with so many options out there, there is a template to suit any budget!
