The size of the file matters. Images with larger size could potentially slow down the loading time of your web page, especially with pages that contains so many images. Therefore, small and easy to load images are necessary. Considering that the internet companies (broadband or dial-up) have improved their services, many people are still not willing to wait long for your pages to appear. Use only suitable images. Placing pictures on your website should be directly related to the nature of your business. Next thing that is important to layout is the use of white space. Having a white space should be monitored, but nothing to worry at. Therefore it is imperative that you are aware about the amount of white spaces on your page.
Graphics must be used as useful element instead of being a useless background only. It must enhance the appearance of your website.
