Getting people to come back and visit your website is one of the considerations when you are brainstorming on a web design. Aside from good content, readers and audiences want a website that loads fast and is easy on the eyes.

One of the biggest annoyances about a website is that it has too much going on. If your reader is exhausted just by looking at your landing page, then you should not expect him or her to come back. It is not bad that you want to have web design that will make your site popular and unforgettable but it is another thing to have flashy headers as well as several graphics all in one page. If you want a header, keep it simple and make sure that it does not restart every time a web site visitor clicks on a page.

Another irritating web design feature is background music. If you are not an Internet radio station, do not put background music on your site. It is just unnecessary and just adds to the loading time. Another bad idea to include is a video that plays as soon as the site starts to load.

Keep your font size in check as well. Unless your site is for people with special needs, do not display large, bold fonts on your site. Your web design should look clean and polished; it should not shout at your audience or readers. Surely, you want to get your message across, for example, Ohio to Washington, but doing this by using a big font is not the way to go. On the same note, keep layers at a reasonable number. Do not torture your reader with many layers and force them to read whatever message you have.

Lastly, try not to include popup windows in your web design: it is unnecessary and one of the biggest annoyances about a website. Even more annoying is that the pop up window’s close button is so small that it is hard to click. Including this in your site is not a good idea since audiences do not want to be inconvenienced by such things: you would only lose readership if you go with popup windows.
