4 Rules to Follow When Designing a Real Estate Website
Before you start to design your website, you must think about how you plan on attracting potential clients to view it. Regardless of how you plan on attracting visitors, it is important to give them a reason to stay on your website. Here are some general rules that have held true for every high ranking real estate website.
1. Knowing what your site is for.
Before you can attract someone to your website, you need to know why they would want to go there in the first place. It serves no purpose attract people to your website, if they are not going to stay there and see what you have created for them.
2. Understanding your service area.
As a realtor, your website will have geographic constraints. There is no reason to attract people from New York if your a real estate agent in San Fransisco.
3. Content that people want
Your website must have some high quality content. The internet survives on quality content, the importance of it cannot be overstated.
4. Creating a focused website
Visitors and search engines alike want to see a focused website. It is fine that you talk about a local golf course near some available property, but it is not helpful for you to hand out golf tips.
Following these rules are critical when designing your website. However it will still take some time to rank highly on every search engine. Search engines like websites that have been around for a while. This means that you need to maintain a high level of quality over a period of time, so keep adding quality content regardless of your initial results.
