3 Things to Keep In Mind When Selecting an Optometry Website Designer
If you are looking for someone to design an optometry website to meet your specific needs, then hiring someone that you can trust and will meet your objectives then there are certain things to keep in mind. When interviewing potential optometry website designers keep these 3 tips in mind.
1. Understanding What to Look for in a Website Designers Portfolio
A quality designer should me proud of showing examples of their previous work. When looking at previous works, you need to focus on both at the appearance and also it functionality. You also need to see how much of a similarity there is between works, so that you can get an idea of whether or not your designer is basing everything from a template or designing each website from scratch. You should also look what features that they are comfortable designing and utilizing.
2. Understanding the Difference Between Designers/Artists and Designers/Engineers
A website designer that is more of an artist then a engineer will be able to give you a beautiful, professional website. If you are more interested in eye candy, entertainment, or entire movies then an artist may be the style of designer that you want. If you are looking for a website that is easy to navigate, simple in appearance and structure, compatible with every browser, and focus on content and SEO techniques then an engineering designer will fit your needs more readily. Both of these styles are advantageous, it all depends on what you are looking for in a website. Simply make sure that you choose a style of designer that fits your needs.
3. Pay Close Attention to Testimonials and References
Many website designers will include clips or full testimonials from previous clients. You need to read them carefully and decide if you think that they are legitimate or not. Personally, I always choose to call at least several references to make sure they are legitimate. However, it is wise to choose at least two references in the middle of the list to contact because if some are real and some are fake, the first and last few are normally the legitimate ones, and the fake references are buried in the middle. Also when you are talking to the references, ask not only about the initial design, but also how the maintenance and post-design relationship is.
By carefully looking into these 3 areas, you should have no problem choosing a professional designer to fit your needs.
