Maximize Your Sites Sales Potential

There is a vast difference between designing a site to present information, and designing one that will do the best possible job of selling your business’s products or services. If your site’s purpose is sales, remember to bear these tips in mind!

• Use a big, bold, interesting headline to get attention. If your headline misses it’s target, your visitors are bound to click the back button, and never see your sales pitch!
• Include your product or service’s biggest benefit in your headline. For instance, if you are selling a weight loss system, your headline could include something like “the quickest, easiest weight loss system ever.” Quick and easy are benefits.
Don’t use one buy button at the end of the page. Some visitors may be convinced halfway through, but if they have to scroll through pages and pages of information to find the buy button, they might give up and leave! Put buttons linked to your purchase page throughout the page.
• Include customer reviews and testimonials, and make them prominent. Add a sidebar to hold happy clients recommendations, or scatter them throughout your page.
• Give your clients a variety of payment options. They might have decided to buy, but can’t use the payment method you want them to. You’ve just lost a sale!
• Include special offers, even if they are not really special offers. For example, you have probably already included delivery in your price. Rather tell customers they get free delivery. On the other hand, if you’re selling an e-book for download, include a “bonus” book, on a related topic.
• Make sure your site is functional, easy to use and uncomplicated. A sales page, more than any other, relies on simplicity of use for its success. Any hiccups along the way could chase customers away!

Take a look at successful e-commerce sites. They all have a few common traits, which contribute to their success. Don’t get creative with critical issues like processing payments, or complicated navigation. Online shoppers like uniformity. They prefer what they know and trust. Give them what they want, and they will probably buy from you. Don’t, and your sales will suffer!
